Not as advertised – only 20% matcha
This is not pure matcha powder – it contains 20% matcha and 80% brown rice solids.
For detailed nutrition info from the package see the package label (from the manufacturer’s site):

From the package, each 5g serving contains 1000 mg (1g) of matcha
As such, I can only give it 20% of a 5-star rating.
A bit deceiving product name…
Only 20% matcha? I purchased at a health food store thinking I was getting a discount product, a 5.5 oz tub of matcha tea when actually what I was getting was about 1 oz of matcha tea and some filler. I am very disappointed but I suppose that is what I get for not bringing my calculator with me.
It general it is very bland and only mildly matcha tasting so I mix in matcha just so I don’t waste the $15 I paid. DoMatcha is the way to go IMO though it is the only brand I have had but had served me very well.
You pay for what you get.
I bought this product because it looked like a great deal: 5.5 ounces of ceremonial grade matcha green tea for about $14 with free shipping. I liked what I got – at first. It was sweet, had a good umami flavor, a little seaweed-taste, and almost no bitterness. I took a good look at the label and I understood why it tasted very different from the matcha I had before. This tea is mixed with a good amount of brown rice powder. It is definitely not pure matcha. It has more of a brownish look to the powder, not the bright or dark green color that I’m used to. I’m not buying it again. Not the best. You get what you pay for.
