This is ceremonial-grade matcha for under $30 (roughly $10/ounce). The taste is on par with more expensive matcha, such as that sold by Teavanna ($35 + tax), and the color is slightly more vibrant than some more expensive alternatives. It is harvested in the Kyoto prefecture of Japan, which is also farther away from the Fukushima disaster than the Aichi prefecture, where the more-expensive matcha sold at Teavanna is harvested from (of course, both are likely far enough away that you’re safe, regardless of which one you buy). My only gripe is that the bag (inside the tin) within which the tea is kept is too large for the tin, making it a pain to spoon your matcha out. However, cutting a couple of inches off the top of the bag handily resolves this issue.

For quality, inexpensive, ceremonial-grade matcha, look no further.
