People said about this Bigelow Green Tea, 40-Count Boxes (Pack of 6)

This review is for Bigelow’s Earl Grey.
Tea isn’t a beverage for me, it’s an event, starting from boiling the water to when the last drop vanishes down my esophagus. Therefore I usually buy loose leaf as it is less processed, I can see and smell what I’m buying and I can better control the strength of my tea. I first tried this when I obtained a few complimentary bags.

On the matter of taste, I find it very good. The Bigelow EG appeared to be very strong in color and taste.

Tea bag teas are usually cut very fine so the bags can be packed flat, and because finely cut leaves have more surface area than big leaves, you don’t need to steep the tea as long. In fact the instructions say to steep only 1-2 minutes as opposed to the usual 3-4 mins.

To me, Earl Grey taste has two components, the tea taste and the bergamot taste, and it takes a lot of skill to blend and make a tea that has a pleasing combination of the two tastes.

For example, I’ve found that Taylors and Harrogate has a mild…

Not individually packaged in foil and leftover stuff on bottom of cup.
I bought the Bigelow Green Tea after tasting how delicious the Bigelow I Love Lemon tea is. Here’s a few pros and cons.

Pros:
Price wise – great price, $14.99 after 15% with Subscribe & Save and Free shipping for 240 tea bags comes out to around 6.2 cents each tea bag

Cons:
Figured they be individually wrapped like the I Love Lemon tea but it’s not. These 40 count boxes are not packaged individually in foil packs but there are 4 tea bags in 1 foil pack and not resealable. Therefore, if you’re not a frequent tea drinker, the tea bags might loose freshness after you open the foil pack after a few days. If you want individually packaged tea bags, you should look at the Bigelow Green Tea, 20-Count Boxes (Pack of 6).

If I leave the tea bag in my cup for more than a minute, I will see loose tea particles on the bottom of my cup, leaving the last mouthful of tea undrinkable. This problem does not happen in the I Love Lemon tea by Bigelow even if I…

Orange Spice
This tea has just the slightest hints of orange zest and a little spice. It reminds me of when I used to go to Seattle to my grandmother’s house and we would have tea and her famous apple pie. A relaxing tea you can drink with honey or with milk and sugar. Orange Blossom honey is recommended.
